Mr. Khonsavanh Sayasenh was appointed as Chief Executive Officer of Forte-Toko Lao Assurance Co., Ltd. on 23 April 2025. In this role, he leads the overall strategic direction and operations of the company, driving growth, innovation, and customer-centric excellence across all departments. His leadership is pivotal in advancing Forte-Toko's mission to become a trusted and leading insurance provider in the Lao PDR.
Prior to his promotion, Mr. Khonsavanh joined Forte Laos as General Manager in July 2024, where he played an instrumental role in shaping the company’s strategic business development. Working closely with the Group CEO and executive leadership, he was responsible for overseeing key business functions including claims, underwriting, finance, HR, customer service, IT, sales, and product development.
Before joining Forte, Mr. Khonsavanh served as the Chief Financial Officer and Chief Risk Officer at Allianz Insurance Laos. In that capacity, he demonstrated strong expertise in financial reporting, strategic planning, and risk management. He successfully led initiatives to improve profitability, implemented robust risk frameworks, and contributed to business continuity and growth. He also spearheaded transformation projects and played a key role in the acquisition of corporate infrastructure.
Earlier in his career, he held the role of Chief Financial Officer and project lead for a newly established insurance company, where he directed the development of its core insurance system and built critical operational capabilities.
Mr. Khonsavanh holds a bachelor’s degree in Law and Political Science from the National University of Laos, and a second bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from English and Business College. He also earned a Master’s in Business Administration from the National Organization for the Studies of Policy and Administration and a Master’s in International Project Leadership from SKEMA Business School in France.
With a strong foundation in finance, risk, and operations, and a passion for driving transformation in the insurance sector, Mr. Khonsavanh is well-positioned to lead Forte-Toko Lao Assurance into its next chapter of sustainable growth and innovation.
Hiroki Okamoto (Oka) is Chief Business Officer in Forte Laos and heads up the Japanese regional business in Cambodia.
Hiroki joined Forte in 2018 and moved to Laos upon Forte’s acquisition of the former Toko Jaya Lao Assurance business. He established the Japanese desk at Forte and became the first resident-based insurance specialist for Japanese clients in the history of general insurance in Laos. Within 4 years of operation, he was successful in growing the business to achieve top market share of the Japanese insurance market in Laos.
Hiroki’s career first started at Bank of Tokyo Mitsubishi UFJ Co.,Ltd in 2010. He gained extensive experience in corporate banking for listed companies, especially for project financing, syndicated loans, and bridging finance for mergers & acquisitions as a relationship manager.
Hiroki holds a BA in History - majoring in African oral history - at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), USA.
